Tour de Queens

9 Jul

Perhaps we should’ve had a more nutritious breakfast than a doughnut before a long bike ride.

But we didn’t.

We enjoyed our doughnut and the smooth, mostly flat ride along the Tour de Queens, which started and ended at the unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, with a route through northeastern Queens.

With a police escort, we had tons of room to ride, and just a few spots where we had to stop for traffic. It was nice to see some areas of Queens we’ve never been to before.

The rest area was at Little Bay Park, which overlooked the Throgs Neck Bridge.

After 19 miles, we successfully made it back.

Some riders had boomboxes/speakers on their bikes playing summer music.
