Yarn Balls

7 Dec

I bought this yarn for one cent per spool. That’s right — 1¢. I have no idea why it was only one cent, but I didn’t ask any questions. I just gathered all the spools I could find and paid a whopping nickel for the last five spools.

Then, I grabbed some balloons and glue to make these.

Then, the balls sat on our kitchen table and/or bedroom desk for two months. Until Sunday, when I finally strung them up on some Christmas lights and hung them up using mini hooks in our hallway.

One of the saddest parts about living in New York City (even in an outer borough) is that you can’t see stars in the sky at night. But now, we can lie in our tiny hallway and stare up at the pretty “sky.”

how about strung up like bunting below a shelf? or if you have a four post bed, along the top? or even hanging across the top area of a window? the possibilities are endless, although you might want to make them smaller to be more versatile.
