Aloha from our 50th state, Hawaii! This week, my family and I are on the Big Island, and next week we’ll be in Maui.
Pictures to come. But, so far one of the coolest things we did was night snorkel with manta rays. The Travel Channel called it one of the “Top 10 Things To Do in your Lifetime.” They shine light in the water to attract plankton and the manta rays eat the plankton. Our boat captain said the manta rays range from 4′ to 16′ wing span. We stayed on the top of the water snorkeling, and the manta rays get really close to you as they do “back flips” eating the plankton.
